Ready to Read, Ready to Rock!- Hands on Parent Training

“Ready to Read, Ready to Rock” is an interactive Every Child Ready to Read training program. We pair 2-3 minutes of instruction with 5-10 minutes of activities to reinforce for each: Read, Talk, Sing, Write, and Play. We created this program for caregivers who desire more guidance in how to help their child be ready to read. Caregivers come to the program with their child, and participate directly with their child in the activities. They also receive background information from the librarian leading the program as to why these practices are helpful. When we presented it at our library it was very successful. The parents and kids had a great time, and left with a lot of information.
