It's come to my attention that some of you have received spam messages via the ECRR Ning Network. I've suspended the individual connected to the messages and I'll be monitoring the network for any continued suspicious activity. If you have a message that looks like spam, please do not open it! If you see something like this, please let me know: Dan Bostrom, email@example.com. Thank you to everyone who reported this.

Due to a recent round of spam, we've implemented a policy for individuals to join the Ning. All individuals must submit a request to join, which will be approved by one of the Ning administrators. Approval should be decided within 48 hours. If you are already a member of the Ning community, this will not affect your status. We hope that this will deter spammers in the future.

Some of you alerted me today that there was some spam messages going out to Ning members. I've deleted/banned the two users who were obviously spammers, so hopefully that takes care of it. If you see any unusual activity, please let me know. I'll keep an eye on the Ning over the weekend.
